Travelling to Sydney

Sydney - The Host City:
Sydney, the gateway to Australia, is one of the world's great cities. It has world class infrastructure, facilities and services with a cosmopolitan lifestyle and a remarkable natural beauty. Sydney is home to the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. Sydney is easily accessible by all delegates with one stop flights available from most countries offering the potential to visit another country en-route.

Transport in Sydney:
There is excellent transport from Sydney's International Kingsford Smith Airport to the Congress venue. A taxi ride from Sydney Airport to the city centre and the Congress hotel should take around 30 minutes. There is a train service that connects the airport with the city centre and there are shuttle buses to the centre of town.

Climate:
November is at the end of Spring in Sydney with average temperatures from 16 C to 24 C (60 F to 75 F).

Electricity:
Electrical current is 240/250V (AC50Hz). Australia uses the three-pin power outlet so you will need an adaptor. Universal outlet 110V shavers are usually found in leading hotels.

Goods and Services Tax (GST):
Since 1 July 2000, Australia has adopted a new taxation system incorporating the Goods and Services Tax (GST). All prices quoted are inclusive of GST unless otherwise specified.

Passport & Visa:
All travellers to Australia, other than those from New Zealand, require a valid entry Visa prior to travel to Australia. Please consult your travel agent or airline for further details. Individuals who require an official letter of invitation in order to obtain a visa and authorisation to attend the Congress should contact the Congress Secretariat.
